Flora
Many of the flora photos are taken in my garden. Sunflowers, day lilies, zinnias, cannas, morning glories, cleome, wisteria, nasturtium are some of the plants growing in the garden. The ability to photograph the flowers at their peak and wait for the perfect lighting is very satisfying and challenging.

Native Flora
The native flora (local wildflowers) are botanicals I also love to photography. I have tried to capture the visual elegance of these forgotten beauties in my “flora portraits”. Photographing wildflowers in their natural habitat is challenging. It requires many trips to the local woodlands in the spring to locate early bloomers, the Hepatica, the Bloodroot, and the elusive Jack-in-the-Pulpit . In the summer, I head out into Tallgrass Prairie with its abundance of grasses and tall wildflowers.
